This 5G Lite is available in four sizes. Take a look at our guidelines below to decide which size you need. These sizes are a guideline for people of average weight.
These are the sizes Selk’Bag recommend you choose:
The rule of thumb for fitting the Selk’Bag is that if you are a larger male and undecided which size to get, size up. On the other hand, if you are female and in the same situation, choose the smaller size.
in addition, think about how you will be using it. While a larger fit will provide a better sleeping experience a tighter fit will be more practical for walking in.
The chill of a summer or autumn night should never threaten to disrupt your camping plans. A lighter version of the Original 5G Sleeping Bag Suit, the Selk’Bag 5G Lite keeps you covered and cosy while you explore camp or curl up by the fire.
The booties are now removable so that you’re able to wear any shoe of your liking, extending the usability of the Selk’Bag to almost any activity. The arms and hood feature adjustable drawstring closures to customize the fit. Double front zippers make the sleeping sac easy to jump into once the sun dips beneath the horizon.
Selk’Bag’s new generation of its Lite model, the 5G is the ideal for cooler weather outdoors or keeping the heating bills in check at home.
The latest version of the Selk’Bag 5G Lite has removed the extra weight you don’t need while adding in features that make their sleeping sacs so popular. The shell is sewn from polyester pongee. Pongee was originally a finely woven silk fabric made in China; its origins go back to 710 BCE. And, while pongee now refers to various finely woven fabrics, such as polyester, the term indicates a soft hand and smooth feel that the original silk fabric was known for.
As with the 5G Original, the 5G Lite is treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish to shed droplets of water from the surface rather than allowing them to soak through the fabric. DWR creates small hairs on the surface that collect mist into droplets so that it runs off the pongee. This is similar to what happens when small droplets gather together and roll down a pane of glass.
The fill for the 5G Lite is a lightweight polyester fill that is thick enough to keep out the chill, but not so heavy that it’ll weigh you down. The lining is also a polyester weave. To ensure that cool air stays on the outside, the sac’s zippers feature draft tubes. An additional draft tube is also sewn around the hood.
In addition to the fabrics and feature, the fit of the 5G Lite has been refined so that it is less bulky and easier to move in. This alone reduced the weight by almost 10 per cent from the previous version.
The refined design of the Selk’Bag 5G Lite is sure to become your go to sleeping sac for cool nights on the sand, festivals, or just hanging about at home.
